The gearbox has a shift time of just 150 milliseconds. The transmission was a first generation "clutchless" design from the late 1990s, and there have been complaints about its abrupt shifting.

The Enzo Ferrari has 4 wheel independent suspension with push-rod actuated shock absorbers which can be adjusted from the cabin, complemented with anti-roll bars at the front and rear.

The Enzo uses 483-millimetre (19 in) wheels and has 381-millimetre (15 in) Brembo disc brakes. The Enzo uses 19" wheels held by a single lug nut and Bridgestone Potenza Scuderia RE050A tires.

Gemballa MIG-U1 based Ferrari Enzo

German tuners Gemballa, known for their work with Porsche cars, may have taken a stab at the Ferrari Enzo. The Gemballa MIG-U1 is either a limited edition or a privately-commissioned one-off model that missed its planned debut at the Dubai Motor Show.

News of the car comes from the Ilyas and Mustafa Galadari Group, a company that runs several automotive businesses from their offices in Dubai. They claim the car has a completely new exhaust, and not just new tailpipes. The car boasts a unique rear bumper and wing, new side sills, and a front bumper. It appears the car has LED daytime lights as well.

It just wouldn't be a Gemballa without the roof-mounted air intake. Interior mods include quilted upholstery, dual-tone floor mats, and a video screen.

Ferrari Enzo

Ferrari is working hard to meet the requirements set up by the European government for the new CO2 laws that will begin in 2012 by downsizing the carbon footprints by almost 40%.Ferrari is even looking to downsize the new Enzo.

Awhile back there were rumors that Ferrari was looking into a twin-turbo V8 to replace the Enzos 6.0L V12 powerplant. Now the Ferrari technical director Robert Fedeli told AutoWeek in an interview that Ferrari is developing both a V8 and a V12 to cover its exotic options.

The Italian automaker states that it is not interested in advancing the power wars, and that driving dynamics will take precedence over brute force. IfFerrari manages to keep the weight to 2,200 lbs. using technology hinted at with the FXX Mille Chile concept, then even the vaunted Veyron could have more competition than it can handle. They just need to make sure that drivers know exactly how to drive the new lightweight cars. If not than 2012 will be the year of crashes more so than this year.

Edo Competition Enzo XX Evolution

Edo Competition has released another Enzo XX with 800hp and the company called it as the Edo Enzo XX Evolution. Power is up and weight is down, a sure recipe for good performance numbers. By increasing the Enzo's 6.0-litre V12 cubic capacity to 6.3-litre, installing new camshafts, modified cylinder heads, titanium valve spring retainers and connecting rods, high flow catalytic converters, mufflers and air filters and new high performance exhaust headers edo did just this.

A lot more was done like improving the transmission's shift times to 60 milliseconds - 20 milliseconds less than an F1 car and using lighter drive shafts. In the end 100kg (220 lbs) was shed and extra horses were brought into the stable. Now the car makes 618kW (840hp) and maximum torque of (575 ft-lb) is available at 5,800rpm. Moreover removing the muffler frees an extra 20 horses (15kW).

Performance figures are 0 - 100km/h in 3.2 seconds, 200km/h (124mph) in 9 seconds and 300km/h in 19 seconds. Top speed is said to go beyond the 390km/h (242mph) point thus presenting a real challenge to the 407km/h recorded by the Veyron under the skilled tutelage of one James May. Exterior changes include a new retractable rear wing, new LED taillights and a new rear skirt with winglets.Edo Competition will throw in a test day with an instructor and full hospitality package for those who choose to convert their prized Enzos.
